Role based at a 6 bed cardiothoracic surgery progressive care unit offering postoperative care for cardiothoracic surgery, LVAD, and post-heart transplant patients. This is a hospital-based Advanced Practice Provider position with benefits eligibility. Work schedule: (3) shifts per week, rotating between day and night shifts. No call requirement. Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient- and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting. Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals. Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization. Recognizes this is a safety-sensitive position; maintains the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner as an essential function. Minimum Requirements Education Master's Degree - Nursing Experience Supervisor Experience No Experience Licenses & Certifications Licensed APRN in Missouri National APRN Board Certification Preferred Requirements Education Doctorate - Nursing Experience 2-5 years Benefits
