Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology
with an academic faculty appointment in the
Department of Pediatrics . We seek an enthusiastic candidate eager to lead the division in clinical practice, teaching, and research at an academic urban medical center. Our values and mission continue to drive our excellence in patient care, education, and research. Overview:
The successful candidate will join a team of pediatric endocrinologists, endocrine nurses, nutritionists, and a mental health professional in an expanding service. Responsibilities include oversight of division operations, clinical, teaching, and research activities. The candidate will participate in ambulatory clinical services, inpatient consults, and the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents at Boston Medical Center, the major teaching affiliate of Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. There is an opportunity for collaboration with the Internal Medicine Endocrinology Division on a Pediatric-to-Adult Transition Clinic and supervision of internal medicine endocrinology fellows. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate to lead the expansion of patient care, teaching, and research in endocrinology, diabetes, and weight management. Our division offers a comprehensive Type 1 Diabetes Program, a multidisciplinary Type 2 Diabetes Program, and an Adolescent Transgender Program. There is close collaboration with Pediatric and Adult GI and Nutrition services, including bariatric surgery. Candidates should have strong leadership and clinical skills and an interest in practicing in an urban academic environment, working with our diverse population as part of a comprehensive care team. About the Department of Pediatrics: The Department has 110 faculty members and offers a full range of pediatric subspecialty care. The Division of Endocrinology includes 2 faculty members, contracted physicians, and a multidisciplinary clinical team. The division works closely with primary care and other specialties to provide coordinated, comprehensive care and wrap-around services. The Pediatric Department is a center of excellence for urban pediatric care with over 65,000 ambulatory visits annually. Boston University Medical Campus comprises Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center, which are physically connected. BMC is located in Boston’s South End and serves a large urban population with a strong community health focus. Qualifications: MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology Medicine. Eligible for full licensure and credentialing at Boston Medical Center. Compensation:
