Overview
Analyst, Deal Desk II at MSC Industrial Supply Co. The Deal Desk Analyst II will support all financial business phases of the customer journey by managing large, complex commercial and government program requirements and promoting MSC as a trusted advisor in the business relationship. This role focuses on customer profitability, contract term maintenance, enabling MSC to meet program requirements, and providing recommendations to sustain or increase program tenure and profitability. Responsibilities
Lead the analysis and management of financial requests and obligations for programs supported. Identify, analyze, and execute opportunities for improved performance, profitability, and incremental sales growth to fulfill contract requirements. Utilize data mining techniques and information retrieval methods to gather business intelligence. Develop and maintain financial, market, operational, and related research to support strategic pricing, discounting, and guidance for large complex programs. Provide support during the RFP deal-making process to ensure understanding of deal components and maximize value. Analyze customer buying patterns and compare to industry segments to optimize customer programs. Provide direct analytical support to the Large Account Sales Team to identify optimization opportunities within customer programs. Interpret and evaluate research data for incorporation into customer pricing models. Communicate results, guidance, and strategies effectively to management at various levels. Collaborate with Sales Management to incorporate trends, best practices, and successes into pricing models and margin programs. Assist in developing and implementing solutions to maximize sales and profitability through large customer opportunities. Assist in developing pricing standards for large customers. Recommend strategies to management and develop business plans informed by MSC’s operational structure. Navigate complex customer needs and propose solutions to roadblocks for large customers. Identify customer requirements at business and technical levels to determine system needs for MSC compliance with contract regulations. Lead cross-functional collaboration to evaluate data needs and identify solutions for customer opportunities. Maintain and extend strong relationships with internal and external customers. Support MSC culture and participate in special projects as required. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent required. Minimum 7 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in an analytical role (financial analysis, business strategy, or sales). Definitive analytical ability required. Minimum 1 year of experience leading teams required. Skills
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. AS400 knowledge and proficiency in internal RFQ tools after training. Effective communication with all management levels. Strong analytical and data manipulation skills; excellent oral and written communication. Other Requirements
