Overview
Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Project Leader to support KPS and our government customer in the DC Metro area. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. The Project Leader (Governance) is a critical role responsible for leading and managing all governance operational support functions across multiple complex and interrelated project tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governance, project management, and software engineering, with exceptional leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide strategic direction to ensure successful governance operations. Responsibilities
Serve as the Governance lead, organizing, directing, and managing governance operational support across multiple complex projects and teams, often at multiple locations. Provide overall direction and oversight of governance activities, ensuring adherence to established policies, standards, and procedures. Manage and maintain the contractor's interface with senior levels of the customer’s organization, fostering effective communication and collaboration. Consult with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review governance artifacts, supporting adherence to program and project schedules. Establish and maintain reports to show progress of projects to management and customers, ensuring transparency and accountability. Organize and oversee the successful completion of all assigned governance tasks, providing guidance and support to team members as needed. Support the OCIO and various program offices to ensure seamless integration and coordination of governance efforts. Serve as the task leader, managing a group of engineers and the full ADP life cycle in software engineering for a minimum of two years. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or Project Management). Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and training; ability to obtain a Public Trust. Must have two (2) years of task leader experience managing engineers and the full ADP life cycle in software engineering. Proven experience with governance frameworks, processes, and best practices in IT or related fields. Strong leadership, project management, and multitasking abilities; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify risks and opportunities and develop effective strategies. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance related to governance and IT operations. Desirable: Experience with office equipment, database management, reporting and data entry procedures; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Location, Travel and Benefits
