Provide advanced level of care, assessment, and education in Respiratory Therapy. Institute, monitor, control and evaluate complex life support systems that ventilate patients. Demonstrate knowledge of related policies, procedures, standards and equipment; read and communicate in English; explain therapy and goals to patients and family members; communicate effectively with other health care professionals. Prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team environment; maintain confidentiality of all personal/health information. Maintain basic computer proficiency and data entry as required. Qualifications
Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pulmonary Physics, pulmonary Pathophysiology, Advanced Respiratory Care, Mathematics, Blood Gas Chemistry, and Pharmacology. Typically acquired through completion of a two-year AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy. Current or ability to obtain board certification and RT licensure prior to start date. Knowledge of basic medical terminology; ability to read and communicate in English; ability to prioritize tasks and work in a team. Caring and sympathetic attitude with the ability to explain therapy and goals to patients and families; effective communication with other health care professionals. Basic computer proficiency including data entry and information access; ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Physical ability to meet core job requirements for the patient populations served.
