Overview
We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected, long-established 24/7 ER clinic serving the Bay Area for over 50 years. The hospital is renowned for its gold-standard emergency care for companion animals, including exotics, birds, and small mammals. The facility has been recently renovated and features the latest in digital radiography, ultrasound, telemedicine, and an in-house lab. Emergency clinicians are supported by experienced technicians and on-call board-certified specialists in surgery, neurology, and internal medicine. Lifelong learning is actively encouraged, with robust mentorship, a generous CE allowance, and the opportunity to pursue advanced certifications. Location: San Mateo, CA.
Base compensation and highlights
Base pay range: $180,000.00/yr – $230,000.00/yr
$100,000 signing bonus for experienced ER veterinarians
23–24% production (DOE)
Flexible scheduling: 10–12 shifts/month with 7–10 consecutive days off
State-of-the-art, newly renovated facility with advanced diagnostics and tech
Long-tenured team with mentorship, collaboration, and support
On-call board-certified specialists in multiple disciplines
Commitment to ongoing learning and career growth
About you
DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
Hold (or be eligible for) a California licensure
Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine
Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment
