Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce Position Overview

The Executive Director serves as the lead executive and administrative officer of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce, in providing leadership, vision, and direction for the Chamber, ensuring alignment with the organization’s bylaws, mission, values, and strategic goals. In addition, the Executive Director acts as the primary spokesperson and representative of the Chamber to members, community partners, government agencies, and the broader business community. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Vision

Implement the Chamber’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors; Serve as the public face and voice of the Chamber, representing business interests locally and regionally; Build and maintain strong partnerships with city leadership, businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions; Publishing an impact report for the board, members, and community.

Membership Development & Retention

Lead efforts to attract, engage, and retain Chamber members; Develop programs and services that bring value to the business community; Ensure consistent communication and visibility with membership.

Financial Management

Oversee Chamber finances, budgeting, and reporting; Lead fundraising initiatives, sponsorships, and revenue-generating programs; Ensure financial sustainability and compliance with all regulations.

Operations & Staff Oversight

Manage Chamber staff, contractors, and volunteers; Ensure professional development opportunities for staff; Oversee Chamber events, programs, and marketing.

Advocacy & Community Engagement

Advocate for pro-business policies at the local, county, and state levels. Foster collaborative relationships with local government and community partners. Promote Lompoc Valley as a thriving business and visitor destination.

Desired Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in business, non-profit, or chamber management; Strong organizational, communication and relationship-building skills; Ability to manage budgets, fund-raising campaigns, and sponsorship development; Experience in board relations and community engagement; Familiarity with Chamber of Commerce operations, business development, and economic development; WACE Academy Graduate, preferred. Compensation

$65,000 - $85,000 annual base salary DOE, for this full-time, exempt position; Annual discretionary bonus based on achievement of organizational development goals set by the Executive Committee, up to 20% of base salary. Benefits
