Director, Commercial and Revenue Controllership at Axon. Location: Boston, MA; Phoenix, AZ; Seattle, WA; Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Sterling, VA; or New York City. Reports to: VP, Business Controller, New Ventures. Direct Reports: 0. In accordance with updated guidance, some roles started after October 1 may have an in-office requirement of four days per week (Tuesday–Friday) with approved accommodations. Your Impact

You will lead revenue controllership and commercial close operations for newly acquired businesses and support post-acquisition integration. You will ensure compliance with ASC 606, SEC, and SOX standards and align revenue across hardware, SaaS, and services. This role blends technical accounting with operational and commercial expertise and requires partnering across Finance (Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury) and with Sales, Procurement, Legal, Operations, and IT. This role is responsible for integrating new acquisitions into Axon’s operating model and delivering scalable processes to support revenue recognition and close. What You’ll Do

Strategic & Operational Leadership

Drive a commercially astute, product-aware New Product Introduction (NPI) integration process to ensure financial readiness across quote-to-cash, SKU/BOM setup, and revenue treatment. Lead monthly revenue close for newly acquired businesses, owning end-to-end accounting for key revenue streams, including revenue recognition, technical assessments, SOX control design, and preparation of external disclosures under ASC 606 and SEC requirements. Apply Axon’s global order-to-cash standards to integrate acquired businesses into processes and controls. Execute post-acquisition integration from due diligence to financial system alignment and process transformation. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Sales, FP&A, Legal, Operations, IT and other Finance verticals to implement pre-contract review, streamline fulfillment planning, and align revenue reporting with internal forecasts and external guidance. Train and mentor team members on technical revenue topics and shape scalable, global processes. Reporting & Automation

Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly revenue reporting for senior leadership. Enhance dashboards, reporting tools, and workflow automation to improve visibility and timeliness. Leverage ERP/CRM systems (D365, Salesforce, OneStream, HFM, Alteryx) to drive transformation and efficiency. What You Bring

Technical Foundation CPA required; strong U.S. GAAP knowledge with a focus on ASC 606. Public company experience, including SEC reporting and SOX compliance. Industry & Integration Experience 10+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience in Big 4 and industry. Experience with SaaS recurring revenue, hardware/manufacturing, and multi-element arrangements. Experience supporting NPI and ensuring financial readiness across Read-to-Quote, SKU/BOM, and revenue treatment. Experience managing the finance workstream of M&A integration, from diligence through post-close. Strong systems fluency with D365, Salesforce, OneStream, HFM, Alteryx, Adaptive. Leadership & Influence Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to influence executive stakeholders. Strategic operator who can translate accounting rigor into business impact and thrive in ambiguity. Experience managing projects or teams with a bias for action and execution. Exceptional analytical and project management skills, with attention to detail and execution. Benefits
