This role requires 3 days onsite and 2 days fully remote.**The Benefits Manager, North America, will report to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, North America and will play a critical role in the design, delivery, and administration of benefits and leave programs across the U.S. and Canada. This leader will ensure that all benefit offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company’s broader talent strategy. The Benefits Manager will be responsible for vendor management, employee education, regulatory compliance, leave administration and continuous optimization of health, welfare, retirement, and time-off programs. This role requires a deep understanding of benefits strategy, data analysis, and employee experience, along with strong collaboration across People & Culture, Legal, and Finance teams.**Essential Job Functions**Program Management* Design and manage the strategy, delivery, and administration of benefits programs across North America (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, leaves, and wellness).* Ensure benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and support employee wellbeing, attraction, and retention goals.* Partner with external consultants and internal stakeholders to lead annual benefits planning and open enrollment.* Manage vendor relationships and ensure service-level agreements are met and employee experience is prioritized.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between benefits programs and broader compensation and workforce strategies.Compliance and Reporting* Ensure all benefit programs comply with applicable federal, state, and provincial laws (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and Canadian legislation).* Lead compliance activities including plan filings, audits, and preparation of required reports such as 5500s and SARs.* Maintain up-to-date plan documentation, including Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), policies, and procedures.* Partner with Legal and external advisors to evaluate evolving legislative and regulatory changes.Employee Education & Communication* Develop and implement employee-facing communication strategies and tools that support understanding and utilization of benefits.* Provide guidance and support to HRBPs and managers to resolve complex benefits inquiries or escalations.* Oversee employee benefits orientation and onboarding materials.Leave Management* Administer and manage leave of absence programs across North America, including but not limited to FMLA, STD, LTD, parental, and personal leaves.* Ensure timely case management and coordination with third-party administrators, payroll and HR teams.* Maintain compliance with US federal/state and Canadian leave regulations, and internal leave policies.* Provide clear, consistent communication and support to employees and managers throughout the leave lifecycle.* Track leave metrics and identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and employee experience.Vendor and Budget Management* Lead vendor RFPs, negotiations, renewals, and ongoing performance reviews.* Monitor program utilization, trends, and costs, and provide regular reporting and insights to key stakeholders.* Support the development and management of the annual benefits budget for the region.Cross-Functional Collaboration* Work closely with Payroll, HR Operations, and local teams to ensure benefits data integrity and seamless delivery of services.* Provide guidance and training to HR partners across North America on benefits policies and processes.* Support global benefits projects and initiatives, contributing North American perspective to enterprise-wide solutions.Additional duties as assigned by management**Job Requirements**Education**:*** Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required: equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered* CEBS or similar benefits certification preferred.Experience**:*** Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in U.S. and Canadian benefits administration, ideally within a multinational organization.* Proven experience leading annual open enrollment processes and vendor management.* Strong understanding of benefits compliance and legislation in the U.S. and Canada.* Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.Skills:* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a broad audience.* Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.* Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).Travel:* Occasional travel within North America, estimated at 5%* Travel to onsite meetings in Denver, CO required**Physical Demands and Special Requirements**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
