Physician (Psychiatrist) - EDRP and Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May be Authorized. The VA North Texas Health Care System is seeking to fill Physician (Psychiatrist) positions at various locations. This OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT will remain open until November 07, 2025, or until all positions are filled. The first cut-off date is September 10, 2025. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Duties

Core responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychiatric medical care (assessment, consultation, treatment) to patients on the outpatient mental health team. Incumbent must be skilled in general outpatient psychiatry, including diagnostic evaluations, pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Competent in the management of individuals with a broad range of clinical problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder, mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders in the elderly Veteran population. May provide clinical supervision for health care professionals such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists. May be assigned to act as collaborating physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Involved in supervising and teaching health care professional trainees such as medical students, psychiatry residents, and other trainees. Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1630. Light on-call responsibilities. Options may be available for alternative tours. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and Incentives

Education Debt Reduction Program is authorized. This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants may be ineligible to apply for incentive. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus) or Relocation Incentive: May be available for highly qualified individuals. Basic Requirements

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school. License: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or US territories. Residency Training: Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty training program leading to board eligibility; VA physicians in academic training may be required to be board certified for faculty status. English Proficiency: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Background: Subject to background/security investigation and pre-employment checks, including urinalysis where applicable. Onboarding: Completion of online onboarding; acceptable identification per I-9 requirements; influenza vaccination program participation may be required. Preferred Experience

ABPN or AOBNP board certified or eligible or anticipated eligibility Buprenorphine treatment experience Experience delivering virtual care and managing related technology Residency and Education Notes
