UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children\’s Hospitals Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Department of Pediatrics Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, and In Residence Faculty Series The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children\’s Hospitals is seeking faculty to join our team. Appointments will be made at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Selected candidates will join a leading academic medical center and an NIH-funded GI fellowship training program, with opportunities across the San Francisco and Oakland campuses to contribute to the Department\’s mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent degree, with eligibility for medical licensure in California. Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology. For recent fellowship graduates who are not yet certified, board eligibility is acceptable with the expectation of timely certification. Completion of an accredited fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Candidates should demonstrate clinical competency across pediatric GI, hepatology, and nutritional care.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching and supervising learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Strong clinical and procedural skills in pediatric gastroenterology, endoscopy, hepatology, and related diagnostic or interventional procedures. Evidence of scholarly activity-peer-reviewed publications, clinical research, or presentations-in pediatric GI, hepatology, or nutrition. Interest or experience in academic pediatrics, including curriculum development, quality improvement, or leadership roles. Experience in multidisciplinary or collaborative care models (e.g., working with surgery, hepatology, nutrition, or other subspecialties). Additional subspecialty training or focus-such as IBD, advanced endoscopy, neurogastroenterology, or pediatric nutrition.
Compensation
For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
