Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist (Per Diem) at Work Health Solutions. The position supports patient care management, organization, and communication, contributing to high-quality standards and exceptional patient care and service excellence. Essential Job Duties

Welcomes patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone and addressing inquiries. Prepares patients for visits by guiding them to the examining room, providing examination gowns and drapes, helping them position for examinations or treatments, and arranging room instruments, supplies, and equipment. Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, reviewing/recording medical history, taking vital signs, and confirming the visit purpose. Adheres to safety and infection control protocols. Supports patient care delivery by assisting health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; and changing dressings. Conducts occupational health tests, including Audiometry, Spirometry, and fit testing. Assists providers with workers\' compensation injuries, administers first aid, and conducts drug screening and alcohol collection. Maintains accurate records of all collections. Assists in scheduling appointments and coordinating services with other healthcare providers. Tracks and completes referrals in coordination with adjusters and outside vendors; communicates test results to patients and healthcare providers as directed. Maintains confidentiality and proper storage of PHI. Performs blood draws and other specimen collection procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Coordinates clinic logistics and equipment setup/breakdown at various work sites; travel to different work sites as required. Performs other duties as assigned, demonstrating motivation, reliability, organization, and punctuality. Requirements

Required Licenses and Certifications

Medical Assistant Certificate preferred Phlebotomy certification BLS with CPR/AED proficiency Education, Skills, and Qualifications

Completion of medical assistant coursework from an accredited program High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Prior experience in an occupational health setting preferred Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records Current driver license and reliable transportation Ability to travel, as required Physical Demands

The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, good dexterity and hand-eye coordination, potential repetitive tasks, good visual acuity for recording information, and the ability to bend, kneel, and reach. It may involve working in confined spaces and requires good mobility to move around the clinic and perform examinations. Salary

$25.00-$28.00/hr Seniority level
