Clinical Research Coordinator 2 - Georgetown University Medical Center Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses. Manage and coordinate 7 out of approximately 55 ongoing clinical trials (Phases I–IV) in the Dept. of Neurology, primarily in Migraine/Headache, Parkinson’s Disease, and Neuromuscular Trials. Learn trial assessment schedules and coordinate each visit, including extensive pre-visit planning described in the Responsibilities section. Conduct entire study visits for patients when on site, ensuring protocol adherence and addressing patient needs with an in-depth understanding of each protocol. Maintain a comprehensive functional knowledge of ancillary departments involved in trial visits (e.g., Radiology, CRU, Cardiology) and coordinate effectively with them. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with university requirements for clinical research. Oversee regulatory maintenance, ongoing training requirements, accurate reporting of visits via OnCore/CTMS, data entry, adverse event reporting, and timely communication with team members and sponsors. Coordinate migraine/headache, PD, and Neuromuscular trials at Georgetown University Hospital Neurology sites (satellite clinic in McLean, VA, Chevy Chase, MD, or main site). Spend 5 days per week on site as the sole coordinator for migraine/headache trials at the center, working exclusively in this disease state. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; exceptions may be made for an Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of Clinical Trial Coordinator or Clinical Research Assistant experience. 3+ years of clinical setting experience involving direct patient interaction, in various work arrangements. Minimum 3 years as a Clinical Trial Coordinator or equivalent; candidates with related experience in human subjects research, social work, nursing, occupational health, EMT, or ancillary departments will be considered. Experience with neurology patients, specifically MS and Movement Disorders clinics. Knowledge of regulatory maintenance, IRB submission activities, and CITI trainings (Biomedical, HIPAA, IATA); ability to handle biological specimens and operate related lab equipment. Phlebotomy experience and ability to read and extract relevant information from medical records for research purposes. Strong attention to detail, organization, teamwork, motivation, professionalism, and excellent communication with patients, sponsors, and internal staff. Work Mode Designation
