At Call Your Mother we believe that great food is made even better with amazing service and having fun together. CYM is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in the DC area and Denver, CO. We’re hiring a General Manager in the DMV. This individual should have the ability to travel to any of our DMV locations. At CYM we consider our GMs to be the CEO of their shop. The General Manager oversees kitchen operations, front-of-house service, the continued development and growth of your team, and the overall profitability of your shop. The GM is guest-, food-, and team-focused, a quick thinker front-of-house lover, a skilled communicator, and a motivator. As a GM, you’ll lead by example and hold yourself and all team members accountable for performance and product output through our CYM Values (VIBES). Responsibilities

Oversee daily shop operations from opening to service to closing, at the highest level Proactively solve problems to keep the shop running efficiently Lead supervisors and team members to provide the best service with CYM VIBES in mind Collaborate with supervisors to create a positive, efficient work environment Maintain high operational standards using checklists, recipe specs, and standardized tools Manage maintenance and upkeep of equipment and shop surroundings; coordinate trash, linens, cleaning, and storage Uphold ServeSafe food safety standards and shop safety Manage food and beverage inventory, ordering, budgeting related to food, beverage, and labor goals Recruit, hire, train, and conduct performance evaluations for team members Schedule coverage for shifts; be on-call to address issues as needed Work in the shop five days a week, including weekends; travel between DMV locations as required Core Values & Expectations

1-2 years of experience in a restaurant management role Understanding of P&L, COGS, decision making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, training & team development, and food quality standards ServeSafe Manager’s Food Safety Certification Ability to coordinate multiple tasks including food and labor costs while maintaining standards Hospitality-oriented with a passion for guest experience Hands-on management style; lead by example Proactive, big-picture thinker with initiative High-energy, positive attitude suitable for a fast-paced environment Kindness and respect in interactions Team player; willing to help others Calm under pressure; problem solver Clear, efficient communication with proven coaching and leadership skills for a diverse staff Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays Benefits and Compensation
