Summary Investigational Drug Services (IDS) pharmacist specialist is involved in the drug distribution process related to investigational medications utilized in clinical trials. The IDS clinical specialist is involved in clinical trial start up including performing feasibilities and facilitating creation/maintenance of standardized treatment order sets within Cerner Medication Integration (PowerChart/ PharmNet). Reviewing IDS fee schedule and reconciling Assists in reviewing, updating and developing policies and procedures in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements. The IDS Clinical Specialist assists Moffitt Primary Investigators in protocol and pharmacy manual development. Position Highlights: Actively participates in research study clinical activities, in order to ensure safe and effective use of investigational medications in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. IDS clinical activities include but are not limited to: assist in clinical trial initiation, protocol review/adherence, order set development/maintenance, drug distribution activities, hazardous/non-hazardous compounding, and collaboration with clinical research team to provide complex comprehensive care to research patients. The Ideal Candidate Will have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Experience in Investigational Drug Services with emphasis on managing the complexity of Investigational Drug Protocols.

Responsibilities: Performs and oversees drug distribution duties per policy and procedures. Participates in hazardous/non-hazardous preparation in accordance with most current USP guidelines. Supervises/directs support personnel and verifies their daily activities. Participates in creating and/or maintaining protocol-specific medication order templates for prescribing investigational medications. Credentials and Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required. Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Florida required. CITI Certification (GCP, Human Research, conflicts of interest) Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Either 5 years progressive institutional oncology pharmaceutical experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Residency/Ph.D. in related field with 3 years progressive institutional oncology pharmaceutical experience Proficiency in the drug distribution process as it relates to clinical trial process.
