POSITION SUMMARY

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care to patients. Services are provided for acutely ill patients with medical/surgical diagnoses or maternal child health, which are the primary reasons for admission. The nurse functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carrying out established nursing procedures and performing nursing care for patients with complex, multisystem needs. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and organization. Applies good interpersonal and communication skills, utilizing verbal and non-verbal cues to achieve organizational goals of customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department.

Adherence to identified nursing standards of practice.

Annually demonstrates competence in critical behaviors for the assigned area.

Supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork, maintaining a positive attitude and relationships.

IV competency in IV therapy.

Demonstrates competency in medication administration and knowledge prior to administering medications.

Responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating each patient's care, delegating tasks as appropriate to licensed and unlicensed staff under regulation and competency considerations.

Participates in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, quality control, and performance improvement activities.

Demonstrates the IRAISE values in all professional and patient interactions.

Performs other duties as assigned by Manager, Director, or Clinical Lead RN.

Job Requirements Education

Minimum (Required): Associate degree in nursing

Preferred (Not required): Bachelor's degree in nursing

Work Experience

Minimum (Required): [Insert specific experience requirement]

Preferred (Not required):

* RN with current experience in the specific service or department preferred.

* Current RN experience in assigned area preferred.

* One-year acute care experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum (Required):

Current RN licensure in California

ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be maintained)

Management of Assaultive Behavior Certification (can be obtained within 6 months of hire)

Preferred (Not required):

Emergency Nurse certification

Mobile Intensive Care Nurse certification

Pay Range: $48.41 - $76.69 per hour. Compensation considers experience, education, skills, internal equity, laws, and market factors.
