Open Rank, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA) - Surgical Oncology (Melanoma). This is a faculty position responsible to the Chairman of the Department of Surgical Oncology. General Duties

Provides clinical expertise in patient care management and an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and students in the specialty of surgical oncology with an emphasis on melanoma. Will integrate research efforts into the melanoma surgery program and take a leadership role in that program. Responsibilities

Administration: Serve on departmental, divisional and institutional committees as requested by the Chairman; complete appropriate paperwork promptly; actively participate in section or departmental clinical programs or meetings; adhere to institutional and medical staff policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Education/Teaching: Provide a balanced and integrated educational program in the surgical sciences for fellows, residents and students; attend and participate in Division/Department teaching and continuing education conferences (e.g., Grand Rounds, Morbidity & Mortality); provide teaching in outpatient, inpatient and operating room settings; complete written evaluations of performance; attend and participate in monthly faculty meetings and the annual retreat. Clinical Research: Engage in basic or clinical research (including outcomes/health services) to enhance the academic environment; develop programs of research aligned with Department goals; seek intramural and extramural funding; provide an educational research environment for trainees; develop collaborative research efforts; document findings through publications and presentations at national meetings. Service: Represent the Department at local, regional, state, and national meetings; practice clinical surgery to standards set by regulatory bodies; develop and maintain a clinical practice for colorectal disease/tumors referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center; provide physician staffing for outpatient and inpatient services; communicate with referring physicians; stay current through continuing education; serve as a role model for faculty, fellows, residents and students; provide peer review for assessing clinical practice. Experience And Education

Doctorate-level degree appropriate to a faculty role and department mission; licensed to practice in the State of Texas; board certification (or obtained within departmental timeline) unless exempted; five years post-clinical degree with experience as a clinician, clinical scientist or in GME/trainee roles. Onsite Compensation and Benefits

This position has a target base salary range of $324,514 to $652,968 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. Equal Employment Opportunity
