Job Description Summary: Reporting to the CMO, the VP, Clinical Effectiveness develops and leads initiatives to deliver high quality patient outcomes with the objective of exceeding industry benchmarks and stakeholder expectations. This role leads clinical optimization efforts across all phases from design to implementation, including workflow, KPIs, change management, and adjustments to achieve defined success parameters. The VP collaborates with business leaders across the organization to launch growth opportunities from pilot to national scale launches of new products/drugs onto formulary and/or expanded clinical service offerings. The leader identifies opportunities and partners with internal stakeholders to revise or develop protocols, processes, programs, and service models to enhance patient outcomes, expand clinical capabilities and/or support business growth based on evidence from OCH patient population data. The VP builds a Clinical Effectiveness team focused on driving clinical transformation and continuous improvement across OCH. This position is accountable for implementing and managing reporting on OCH patient populations, trends, and other analytical insights. The VP leads a cross-functional team evaluating data to identify opportunities for quality improvement, clinical service enhancements, and service expansion to drive superior patient outcomes and demonstrate OCH’s value. The role directs program activities across agile teams focused on innovation and progress to deliver efficiencies for internal and external stakeholders. It supports ongoing efforts to advance data analytics, reporting and insights capabilities and value articulation. Responsibilities include providing high visibility, communication, and engagement on analysis and initiative planning. The VP presents to all levels of staff and, upon request, to the Board of Directors. The role aligns with enterprise business objectives and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a bias for action, independent assessment, and decision-making on complex issues. It requires maintaining confidentiality and delivering high-quality work with urgency and integrity. Job Description: Develops insights and strategies to enhance, expand and/or create clinical processes and service offerings by leveraging core business platforms, patient outcomes information and industry data to deliver superior patient outcomes and support business growth while maintaining high quality of care. Leads design and implementation of programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Identifies metrics of success and KPIs, leverages industry benchmarks to articulate OCH’s market performance, and actively manages KPIs to achieve desired results. Oversees analysis of OCH’s patient populations and service offerings and other data sources to inform quality improvement and clinical value. Leads teams in evaluating and recommending clinical workflow processes to enhance quality of care, patient outcomes, access to care, stakeholder satisfaction, and cost of care. Recommends and implements evidence-based practices. Converts program outputs into executive updates, risk mitigation plans, and actionable business recommendations. Contributes to clinical procedures and standards, introducing best practices, competencies and skills to improve outcomes, efficiency and clinician satisfaction. Champions change and continuous improvement while maintaining strong relationships with business partners. Emphasizes the use of technology to create efficiencies and evidence-based findings. Monitors outcomes against external data and industry best practices, developing and executing initiatives in response to trends. Supports data governance, ensuring alignment on data use and disclosure. Chairs and/or serves on OCH committees evaluating new products, therapies and service offerings, including but not limited to the Clinical Review Board, Clinical Trials Committee, and Academic Research Committee. Develops and mentors staff through onboarding, training and performance management; promotes diversity and inclusion. Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities as applicable. Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements: Ten years of progressive healthcare delivery leadership with direct oversight of clinical transformation, quality performance and/or patient outcomes improvement (Licensed Clinician preferred). Proven experience developing and scaling clinical transformation with at least five years in a VP or higher leadership role in a fast-paced environment. Five years of health informatics experience is preferred. Master’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (PhD, DNP, etc.). Solid understanding of the healthcare landscape, trends, regulations and market forces. Proven ability to translate clinical opportunities into revenue growth and value. Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills; ability to engage all levels of an organization. Proficiency in data-driven strategy, change management and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Travel up to 25% as needed. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs): Participation in professional organizations related to healthcare, risk management or quality management. Salary and Pay Range: Pay range is $184,211.06 - $307,025.93 and is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, plus internal equity and market data.
