RN Clinical - Newport Beach Hematology/Oncology Clinic - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union) Join to apply for the RN Clinical role at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). Responsibilities

As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting with an emphasis on administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products. The RN is also responsible for managing patients who require acute care either prior to or instead of admission. Follow policies and procedures; access online manuals and references. Apply learned scientific knowledge to practical nursing care; complete nursing assessments and screenings upon patient encounters (telephone or in clinic). Interpret assessment information to formulate nursing diagnoses. Maintain problem, medication, and allergy lists when indicated. Administer medications as ordered; complete re-assessments; delegate tasks based on scope of practice and competency; act as patient advocate. Ensure complete and correct documentation on all encounters. Provide patient and family education as needed based on diagnosis or treatment plan. Maintain equipment and notify appropriate departments about defective equipment. Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families; triage phone calls; use SBAR and email systems as appropriate. Manage time effectively; organize and prioritize responsibilities; ensure breaks without incurring overtime. Adhere to regulatory requirements (patient identifiers, time-out procedures, medication reconciliation, alarms, HIPAA, OSHA) and participate in quality measures and data collection for process improvements. Participate in professional development activities and assist in the development or updating of patient education materials. Accept and complete additional duties as assigned; perform other related duties as needed. Required Qualifications

BSN (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing) or grandfathered prior to 12/2019. 1 year of experience in a related healthcare setting. Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing). Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions; ability to perform duties including whole blood collection and apheresis procedures in accordance with policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications

Oncology experience strongly preferred. Experience giving chemotherapy and/or other infusions is highly desired. Specialty certification in oncology is preferred (ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy preferred when eligible). Licenses/Certifications

Registered Nurse (CA Board of Registered Nursing). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if applicable; must obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain. Compensation

The hourly rate range for this position is $53.00 - $87.45. Offers consider scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, internal equity, and applicable laws and market considerations.
