The Permanente Federation LLC (the Federation) is the national leadership and consulting organization for the eight Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs), which, together with Kaiser Foundation Health Plans (KFHP) and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (KFH), comprise Kaiser Permanente. This leadership position represents PMG interests, focusing primarily on provider management technologies, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the Permanente Medical Groups, IT, and Health Plan. The primary content focus areas of this role are systems that support provider management strategies. Examples include provider scheduling, provider data management, provider contracting, and coding/revenue capture. This role may also flex to focus on clinical technologies and care delivery governance when needed. Essential Responsibilities
Directs the operations of multiple units and departments by identifying customer and operational needs, analyzing resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans. Engages in strategic, crossfunctional business units to champion and drive support for business plans and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements. Obtains and distributes resources by setting standards and measuring progress; anticipates and removes obstacles that impact performance. Addresses performance gaps and implements contingency plans accordingly. Ensures products and/or services meet customer and client requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Serves as a subject-matter expert and trusted source to executive leadership. Provides influence and consultation in the development of the larger organizational or business strategy. Models and drives continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning crossfunctional resource plans with business objectives. Builds organizational capacity and develops high potential employees for growth opportunities and advancement. Stays current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices. Provides guidance and leadership when difficult decisions need to be made and ensures performance management guidelines and expectations align with and drive business objectives and results. Oversees the development of requirements for process or system solutions spanning multiple business domains by consulting with stakeholders and directing IT teams. Directs the management of business requirements to meet business, functional, and non-functional requirements. Oversees and takes accountability for the solution design process by ensuring solutions are aligned with business strategies, operational workflows, and established budgets.
