Overview
SSA Group at USS Midway is looking for a talented General Manager to join our team. The role reports to the Area General Manager and Regional Vice President. This is a full‑time, exempt position with a base pay range of $105,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr. Your final pay will be based on skills and experience. Coach, supervise, and direct all department managers so operational needs (financial, staffing, product, merchandising, client expectations, etc.) are met daily. Schedule management personnel as necessary. Assist designated management team or individuals in developing training standards for alcohol service, customer service, safety, harassment, etc. Lead management team meetings and conduct training sessions to ensure department heads are properly trained for their roles. Work with the Executive Chef, Retail Operations Manager, and Buyer to track, maintain, and budget inventory and Cost of Goods (COG) as necessary. Act as main liaison between the Client and SSA and maintain a positive relationship with the client and staff. Collaborate with marketing to drive guest experience and operational output to the highest levels. Attend client meetings and report monthly (or as dictated) to the Regional Manager(s). Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws; maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Uphold company policies and procedures and manage financials through budgeting, forecasting, and management of sales per cap and controllable expenses. Ensure timely fiscal reporting to HQ and final checks on invoices processed through accounts. Provide precise reports to the Regional Manager for cash reconciliation, flash reporting, item analysis, monthly inventory, and payroll percentages. Complete business assessments with market pricing to optimize the business model and drive per-capita revenue. Forecast weekly sales and maintain monthly sales analyses; manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines. Set and meet Sales, Per Capita, and Controllable Budget goals; minimize controllable costs and explore revenue opportunities with the client. Ensure exceptional guest service through SSA EXTRA Guest Service standards and engage with Department Managers to maintain service quality. Oversee day-to-day operations of applicable departments, depending on unit location and contract. Maintain knowledge and implementation of the SSA–Client contract with professional discretion; support progressive discipline in the field and keep operating manuals up to date. Review and approve plans for major special events; manage the design and implementation of all menus and pricing. Participate in long-range planning for department programs; manage capital projects and related communications with HQ and the client. Ensure employee integration and exit are managed under legal and HQ guidelines; promote an inclusive and supportive unit culture. Provide editorial input on unit publications and support sustainability/conservation efforts in business applications. Support SSA/Unit community efforts through hiring, engagement activities, and opportunities to give back. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary. Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to articulate with clients, Area General Manager, and HQ. Proven leadership and team-building abilities; capable of fostering partnerships. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Financial management, merchandising, analytical, planning, and leadership capabilities. Ability to stay flexible in a fast-paced environment; proficiency with basic office computer tools. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs as needed. Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. IDEA + Belonging
