Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant
Location: Washington, DC (hybrid – 2-3 days in office per week)
Assignment Type: Contract-to-hire
Pay: $28–$33/hour (depending on experience)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, 40 hours/week
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Addison Group has partnered with a mission-driven nonprofit to identify a Legal Administrative Assistant to support their upcoming collective bargaining negotiations. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced legal support professional who thrives in high-stakes, collaborative environments and can manage sensitive, fast-moving work with discretion.
Job Description
The Legal Administrative Assistant will work closely with the General Counsel and HR team to provide high-level legal and administrative support during collective bargaining negotiations. This individual will coordinate meetings, prepare and redline documents, track action items, and ensure negotiations remain organized and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the General Counsel and negotiation team throughout collective bargaining discussions.
- Draft, edit, and redline legal documents and agreements.
- Prepare meeting briefs, take accurate minutes, and maintain detailed records.
- Organize and coordinate negotiation sessions, ensuring all logistics and materials are handled in advance.
- Manage calendars and coordinate with both internal stakeholders and external representatives.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
- Assist with compliance tracking, legal research, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in legal administrative support, paralegal work, or a related role.
- Proven experience supporting collective bargaining negotiations required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools (e.g., SharePoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing competing priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Hybrid work environment: In-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and first Thursday of each month.
- Overtime eligible (with supervisor approval).
- Contract runs through January, with the possibility of conversion based on performance and organizational need.
