StaffBuffalo is working with a dynamic, growth-focused organization in Amherst, NY, to hire a Data Analyst who can design, build, and optimize reporting tools that leadership can rely on. In this high-impact role, you'll go beyond crunching numbers - The Data Analyst will build dashboards in Power BI, streamline data links, and create accessible tables that help the team save time and make better financial and operational decisions. Reporting to a seasoned analyst, you'll be at the center of the effort to position Amherst as the company's data hub.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Amherst, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and optimize Power BI dashboards and Excel-based tools to support leadership decisions.
  • Centralize and link data sources to improve accuracy and accessibility across departments.
  • Create tables and reports that are quick, intuitive, and accessible for team members.
  • Partner with analysts and leadership to understand reporting needs and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements through data-driven solutions.
  • Support financial and operational reporting, ensuring leaders have the right tools without relying on external vendors.
  • Collaborate on projects across departments, pitching in where needed to support the broader team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or reporting development.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI and Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
  • Experience with SQL or other data query tools preferred.
  • Finance knowledge and familiarity with operational data strongly preferred.
  • Ability to design user-friendly dashboards and reports that drive real decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, down-to-earth personality.
  • Proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to jump into cross-team projects.
