Amperesand is building a global company and looking for talent across our geographies.We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help drive excellence in design for manufacturing and process development as we scale our hardware products. you will lead efforts to bring innovative hardware products from concept to production, with a focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), process development, and production scalability. You’ll be a critical interface between design, operations, and external manufacturing partners—ensuring our products are robust, manufacturable, and optimized for both performance and cost. ResponsibilitiesLead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for X (DFx) , Assembly, Quality, ReliabilityDefine and implement robust manufacturing processes, including process sequencing, critical parameter development, and assembly recipesDrive quality, repeatability, and throughput in both prototype and production environments.Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, NPI, Quality, and Production teams throughout the product lifecycleAct as a technical lead to resolve quality and functional issues in production and with contract manufacturers.Develop data-driven action plans and root cause analyses to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.· Lead the design and validation of novel prototype tooling and assembly equipment with 3rd party equipment builder.· Collaborate with equipment design engineer for in-house equipment development.Oversee internal and external development of equipment and processes for new product introduction and scale-up.Support the ramp-up of production lines, resolving technical issues, optimizing process performance, and ensuring lines meet takt time, yield, and labor efficiency targets.Perform line balancing and capacity planning studies to support efficient line layout, equipment utilization, and throughput targets as production scales.Maintain comprehensive process documentation, participate in Engineering Change ManagementDrive continuous improvement efforts through data collection, analysis, and feedback loopsMentor junior engineers and technicians, manage engineering teams as neededQualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong background in DFM, process development, and high-mix or high-volume productionHands-on experience with a variety of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, die casting, machining, assembly automation, potting)Experience leading large-scale capital equipment design projects.Strong background in concept-to-production equipment development.Experience in data collection and analysis for process development or applicable process engineering expertiseProven ability to lead cross-functional projects and vendor engagementsStrong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindsetFamiliarity with tools such as PFMEA, DOE, root cause analysis, and SPCExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in Agile development environments, including task management and sprint planning using Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira.Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% - 25% including internationallyExcellent written and verbal communications in EnglishPreferred Qualifications:Experience in CAD software (3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, Creo etc.) for designing mechanical assemblies.Experience with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) methodologies.Solid understanding of GD&T and its impact on manufacturability.Knowledge of motion control, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensors.Power Electronics Assembly experience is highly valued from energy, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, or consumer electronics manufacturing.Experience in Industrial Engineering Optimization and Warehouse designPIde55285e7aa7-35196-38252163
