Position Summary

Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce products by performing the following duties.

This job is an at-will position. Employment in this job is not for any fixed period of time, and either the Company or the employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without advance notice, and with or without cause. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical

Inventory Control: Includes conversion of RAW fiber (meters) into fiber assemblies (each). Cycle counts performed on RAW materials used in the manufacturing process. Tracking of materials used daily in each workstation. Fiber Preparation - Cut Fiber to Length: Includes rolling out spools of RAW fiber and cutting them to length. Stripping and cleaving of the fiber using assigned instrumentation. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. SMA Connector Attachment: Includes attaching both the ferrule and the SMA connector to the fiber. Finger dexterity and depth perception (vision) are strong elements at this station. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. SMA Connector Polishing: Includes attaching the fiber assembly to the polishing plate and operating the polishing machine. Hand and eye coordination is required when manually polishing fibers. Good hearing capability is required when operating the polishing machine - polishing "sounds" can determine quality effects. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. Fiber Power Testing: Includes testing each fiber on a holmium laser. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and file management are required. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. Cleaning and Packaging Fibers: Includes Cleaning and inspecting fibers for any defects prior to packaging. Packaging of fibers into an insert and heat sealing the pouches. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. Quality Inspections Including Visual and Measuring: Visual inspections are required throughout the fiber manufacturing process. A final visual inspection of the fiber is required for the Label and Packaging steps. Includes use of magnifying glass to verify length of the fiber tip and a visual inspection of the fiber package to verify that no unwanted debris are in the package. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures. Label Printing and Label Packaging: Includes printing of various packaging labels. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Acrobat are required. Must be able to follow work instructions and fill out paperwork as stated in the Quality Procedures.

Administrative

Complete all associated manufacturing documentation as stated in the Quality Procedures. Responsible for meeting established production schedules, quality levels and Supervisor instructions related to manufacturing of the fibers.

Developmental

Stays current with all procedural updates by attending training sessions. Successfully complete yearly assigned Training Needs Analysis and Training Plan objectives.

1.Education/Qualifications 1.1.High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), and one to three years experience in a production environment. Computer skills required as it relates to production needs.

3.Aptitude 3.1.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately. Ability to measure and count in English standard and Metric units. Ability to use a calculator.

Ability to understand and follow FDA and regulatory requirements related to each workstation. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 4.Operational Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out paperwork required for each production workstation. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees in the organization. 5.Physical Demands

5.2While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit and reach with hands and arms. Specifically when working at the Polishing Station the employee will be required to listen/hear in order to determine when polishing is completed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
