Pay Rate:
$32/hr on W2
Schedule Notes:
3rd Shift- 11:00pm-7:30am 2nd Shift- 3pm-11:30pm
Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all items meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and infection control.
Job Responsibilities:
Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, SOPs, and company Work Instructions. Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and protocols. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble complex surgical instruments. Assemble, package, and label instrument trays/sets accurately. Operate washer disinfectors, sterilizers, and other processing equipment. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage. Document and report missing or damaged instruments. Maintain accurate sterilization cycle records and instrument tracking logs. Handle instruments with care to avoid damage. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of instruments and supplies.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience (decontamination, assembly, sterilization). Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control. Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs. Experience with washer disinfectors, autoclaves, and related equipment.
Education & Certifications
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Required Certification: Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST, CIS).
