Job Description
Position Title: School Secretary - Elementary School
Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's degree preferred; Three years of secretarial experience
Reports To: Principal or Designee
Supervises:
Job Goal: To give secretarial support in areas involving correspondence, records, reports, data files, etc. To dispatch service calls, answer the telephone and keep the office running efficiently.
Length of Contract: 187 Days
Performance Responsibilities:
Evaluation: Evaluation is conducted by the Principal/Designee
Salary: Established by the Board of Education as recommended by the Superintendent

Performance Responsibilities:
- Prepare correspondence, letters, memoranda, reports, statements and other necessary materials from data, copies, rough drafts, etc.
- Prepare material for the beginning and ending of the school year.
- Accurately maintain relevant records, prepare bulletin letters, and reports.
- Assist in preparing class displays and bulletin boards for assigned areas.
- Receive, examine, and route incoming mail and correspondence.
- Accurately maintain records and other material to facilitate prompt access, to include the SIS database.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to student performance and records and all school matters.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal, as long as they are not in conflict with board policy.
Evaluation: Evaluation is conducted by the Principal/Designee
Salary: Established by the Board of Education as recommended by the Superintendent
