NICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Akron, OH 44307 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: NICU, Acute Care
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Start Date: September 5, 2025
• End Date: December 5, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00am – 7:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of recent, permanent NICU nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state (Ohio RN jobs)
• Current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (2 attempts maximum)
• One supervisory reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in NICU specialty
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Completion of BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 48 hours of contract signing
  
  

NICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in the NICU
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies
• Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and required clinical assessments
