• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing)
• Setting: Outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic
• Start Date: August 19, 2025
• End Date: November 18, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts (08:30 – 17:00)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Orientation: 80 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2250 - $2310 per week
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with cancer-related diagnoses
• Charting System: Epic EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Radiation Oncology nursing or oncology RN jobs
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Chemo certification required (ONS/ONCC or equivalent)
• Experience with Epic charting system (Epic EMR)
• Proficiency in port access, IV starts, and outpatient oncology care
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• First-time travel nurses welcome!
  
  

Radiation Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving radiation therapy for cancer diagnoses (lung, breast, colon, brain, GYN, and more)
• Perform CT simulations and administer IV contrast for diagnostic procedures
• Access ports and initiate peripheral IVs as needed
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the oncology treatment process
• Implement radiation safety protocols and monitor for side effects (skin changes, mucous membrane alterations, nausea, vomiting, neuropathy, etc.)
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services
• Accurately document all nursing care and interventions in Epic EMR
• Participate in wound care, management of altered mental status, and other oncology nursing interventions
