Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours (flexible options)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Patient Ratio: 1:8
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570-$1610

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute inpatient rehab RN experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
• Previous charge nurse, community hospital, LTAC, or trauma experience preferred
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Not accepting local candidates within 50 miles of Albuquerque
  
  

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Manage a patient load of up to 8 patients per shift
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform comprehensive assessments
• Deliver care for patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs
• Utilize assistive devices, perform wound care, and manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and ventilators as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV teams and phlebotomy
• Educate patients and families on care plans, safety protocols, and rehabilitation goals
• Document all care activities using the Epic charting system
• Participate in orientation modules and ongoing clinical training
