IT Support Specialist

 

 

Role Summary:

 

Reporting directly to the VP of Information Technology, the IT Support Specialist provides technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving issues that arise with day-to-day usage of operating systems, phone systems, and software. This individual needs to be well-organized and able to effectively resolve issues with limited supervision.

 

Role Type and Location:

  • This Is Not a Remote Position.
  • In-office position – Corporate Headquarters in Bowling Green, KY
  • Full-time, Salaried Exempt

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, network, and peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within systems like Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or Google Workspace.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with system monitoring, backups, and patch management.
  • Support networking tasks such as Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPN setup, and printer connectivity.
  • Document issues, solutions, and processes for knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with System Administrators to escalate complex issues and assist with IT projects.
  • Contribute to IT process improvements and automation where possible.
  • Some travel may be required.

 

Experience, Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

 

  • Experience: 1–3 years of IT support, helpdesk, or technical troubleshooting experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, MacOS and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and common SaaS platforms.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira).
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python) a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service mindset and patience under pressure.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

Academic Qualifications:

 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).


Physical Requirements:

 

  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, pull, crawl, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be able to work in all temperatures.
  • Must be comfortable working in high-height situations.
  • Noise levels may be high at times.
