ITC is a rapidly growing and evolving family-owned and operated business and we need you to join our growing family and client list!Position Title: Travel A/V Installation TechnicianDepartment: OperationsLocation: Charlotte, NC (with up to 25–50% regional and national travel)Pay Scale: $20–$28/hourJob Type: Full-Time, HourlyReports To: Project Manager or Lead AV TechnicianEssential Job FunctionsThe Travel AV Installation Technician is responsible for supporting and executing the physical installation, integration, and servicing of audio-visual and low-voltage systems in commercial environments such as corporate offices, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and public-sector projects. This role requires a blend of construction labor, telecom experience, and AV-specific expertise. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:Construction & Site LaborRead and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and AV system schematicsPerform site labor such as equipment staging, material handling, debris removal, and job site cleanupInstall support infrastructure: cable trays, conduit, raceways, blocking, and mounting hardwareOperate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scissor lifts, and other construction equipment in compliance with safety protocolsCoordinate daily with general contractors and other trades to maintain project flow and site readinessTelecom & Low-Voltage IntegrationPull, label, route, and terminate structured cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, coax, etc.) for AV, voice, and data applicationsTerminate and test copper and fiber cabling using industry standards (RJ45, LC, SC, etc.)Mount and install telecom racks, patch panels, and network enclosuresPerform cable testing, certification, and documentation for handover packagesTroubleshoot connectivity, signal loss, and cable faultsAudio-Visual InstallationMount and install displays, projectors, video walls, microphones, cameras, speakers, and control panels per AV system designsInstall and connect AV system components including DSPs, amplifiers, matrix switchers, control processors, and source devicesDress and route rack cabling; assist with rack build and basic wire managementSupport technicians, field engineers, and programmers during system commissioningConduct basic system tests to verify signal integrity and device functionalityProject Support & CommunicationFollow project plans, work orders, and instructions from project managers, engineers, and lead techniciansReport jobsite progress, blockers, and material needs professionally and promptlyComplete daily logs, photos, and redline documentation as requiredMaintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment following OSHA and company safety standardsRepresent Inter Technologies Corporation professionally on all client sitesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredCTS certification or ability to obtain within six months of start datePrior AV experience preferredAbility to travel regularly, often on short notice, including long or irregular hoursMust pass criminal background check, MVR, and drug screeningStrong communication and teamwork skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google SuiteExperience with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipmentQuick learning ability and adaptabilityCapable of making sound decisions under pressureReliable, approachable, and professional demeanorValid driver's license with no more than two citations in the last two yearsAbility to lift 50 lbs and complete all required safety trainingWorking ConditionsWork environments vary from comfortable indoor settings to active construction sitesMay include hot, cold, outdoor, or elevated conditions (e.g., scissor lifts, suspension rigs)Requires appropriate PPE and compliance with jobsite safety protocolsSuccess FactorsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyTakes initiative, is dependable, and completes tasks efficientlyProfessional, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality installationsCollaborative and receptive to feedbackDemonstrates time and resource management skillsEager to learn and take on new responsibilitiesSupports team goals and contributes to project successConsistently reports to job sites on time and in proper attire/PPECompensation and BenefitsInter Technologies Corporation offers a competitive compensation and benefits package* including:Paid vacation and sick timeMedical, dental, and vision coverageGenerous daily per diem while traveling to cover meals and non-reimbursable expensesFull-service in-house travel team managing air, ground, and lodgingall billed through company accounts401(k) plan with employer contribution after one year of enrollmentProvided tool kit, uniform shirt, PPE, and cell phone stipend*Benefits listed apply to full-time hourly and salaried employees and are subject to change.ADA Compliance StatementThe ADA prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities.
