Location: Fresno VA Medical Center, CA Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service

About the Role

Join the Department of Veterans Affairs, Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS), and provide essential phlebotomy services in support of our Veterans. As a Phlebotomist, youll work in a professional, mission-driven healthcare environment where precision, compassion, and dedication make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and safe blood collection procedures.
  
• Comply with VA Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and professional standards.
• Complete required training (BLS, ACLS, CPRS, and VA mandatory courses).

Work Schedule

• The VACCHCS Laboratory operates 24/7, including Federal Holidays.
• Phlebotomists work rotating 8-hour shifts (morning, evening, and overnight).
• Each shift includes a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
• While tours of duty may be established, staff may be required to cover evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Part Time position

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy Certification (must be active and maintained).
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in phlebotomy techniques; fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and patient care.
• Ongoing compliance with continuing education requirements.
