Description: OCTOPI | Packaging LeadWeekend Night Shift: Friday-Sunday 6pm-6amJob Summary:The Packaging Shift Lead will supervise a team in various packaging functions, operating the bottle filler, canning line, and kegger, as well as directing CIPs and preventative maintenance. This role is responsible for managing daily operations of the line they are assigned to – including staffing and team supervision -- making decisions that aid in efficient, quality production of products. The Shift Lead will coordinate day-to-day work with the Packaging Management Team. You will be accountable for your work and must follow safety brewery guidelines, SOP's, and cleaning procedures.Key Responsibilities:Ensure Redzone is properly utilized during the shift; verify Packaging Quality Control (PQC) checks are completed and reason codes are accurately documentedDrive team accountability and foster a culture of ownership and performanceSubmit detailed and accurate end-of-shift reportsConduct SIM 1 meetings and actively participate in SIM 2 meetings (Short Interval Meetings)Escalate unresolved or urgent issues to the Supervisor promptlyMonitor and maintain optimal line speeds to meet production targetsEnsure sanitation tasks are completed per the Master Sanitation Schedule and properly documentedEnforce adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); recommend updates and improvements as neededSupport onboarding and training of new team membersConfirm correct packaging mix and materials for current and upcoming production runs based on BBT volume prior to kegging/fillingMaintain an up-to-date overview of all BBTs to facilitate smooth information transfer across shiftsIdentify training needs and assign tasks to team members accordinglyDevelop or revise SOPs linked to the master training matrix and communicate changes to the Packaging ManagerCollaborate with the team to identify maintenance needs and submit timely work ordersEnsure completion of daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks in alignment with shift requirementsCreate and submit a comprehensive shift report at the end of each shiftCollaborate with team members to identify and communicate maintenance issuesSubmit accurate and timely work orders for equipment or facility needsMonitor and uphold task completion across daily, weekly, and monthly schedulesSupervise a team of 5–7 packaging employees, providing guidance and supportDelegate tasks effectively during production downtime to maximize productivityProvide hands-on assistance with machinery and equipment as needed to maintain workflow.Able to complete following packaging release targets: Sterile Sample collection (as determined by training matrix).Taking measurements of O2/CO2, if necessary, w/ use of the Gehaltemeter OR C-Box (as determined by training matrix).Able to drive forklift for movement of raw goods (can, bottles) as well as finished goods (cases, trays, kegs).Maintain a clean and organized workspace.Other duties as assigned.
