Description
Material Handler/Overhead Crane Operator
Summary: Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (ground controlled) to lift, move, and position loads of steel within the production facility.
Salary: $20 - $23/hr
Shift:
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Observes load hookup and determine the safety of the load. Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement. Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires. Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions. Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Material handler I competency or 4 years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quality of Work

Machine Skills & Knowledge
Competent with operations of cleaning, packaging, and skid-building equipment. Competent with forklift operations. Competent with overhead crane operations and below-hook devices. Competent with rail unloading equipment.
