Ideal Candidate Profile:
A candidate with a strong background in AWS and HPC, capable of setting up, configuring, and maintaining AWS VDI environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with Amazon WorkSpaces and DCV, and be able to troubleshoot, monitor, and improve VDI services. They should be local to Houston and prepared for a 100% onsite
role.
Summary of Job Description:
The role involves providing RM - AWS VDI Support. Key responsibilities include:
Strong knowledge in HPC (High performance computing on AWS cloud)
Setup/configure Amazon DCV Windows and Linux VDIs
Setup/configure/maintain Amazon DCV pools for shared Linux VDIs
Integrate DCV with AWS Parallel Cluster for 3D visualization workflows in Linux
Setup and support Linux visualization VDIs (DCV visualization nodes) for HPC seismic workflows
Setup and support Amazon DCV Connection Gateway (external access)
Create, implement, and enforce DCV Naming conventions/standards
Customize and maintain Windows Image OS for G&G VDI
Upload/configured/support AWS G&G AMIs
Verify/Tune and improve AMIs functionality with core G&G apps in Linux and Windows VDIs
Setup/configure tools for monitoring/reclaiming/assigning VDIs
Measure key service levels and track performance metrics for key G&G apps running on VDIs
Improve G&G VDI service over time
Create and automate VDI service requests, catalog items, KBs in SNOW
Setup/coordinate implementation of tools to monitor AWS costs and usage.
