here Position Summary:

The Part time Inventory Management Specialist will ensure efficient day-to-day operations for the Transportation Technologies Departmentthrough comprehensive inventory oversight. This position will manage tools and equipment and maintain well-equipped labs for Instructors and Lab Assistants.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage comprehensive inventory of tools, parts, and supplies. Monitor stock levels and reorder as needed to ensure availability of materials. Utilize inventory management software to keep accurate and up-to-date records. Manage and train new tool crib and support staff. Coordinate with vendors to procure tools and supplies cost-effectively and on schedule. Purchase tools and equipment that align with departmental needs and budget guidelines. Perform regular inventory audits to uphold system accuracy and organization. Schedule and coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment is fully operational. Liaise with suppliers and vendors for timely maintenance and servicing. Report any equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs to appropriate personnel. Ensure all tools and equipment required for classes and demonstrations are readily available for Instructors and Lab Assistants and maintain an orderly storage system for quick, easy access. Use the Samsara dashboard to monitor vehicle accountability, tracking mileage and longevity. Coordinate vehicle maintenance activities, including oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections, with faculty and class schedules. Uphold a clean, safe, and organized storage area, following best practices and safety standards. Stay informed of OSHA and MSDS requirements for handling specific tools and materials. Conduct regular safety checks to mitigate potential classroom or lab hazards. Maintain thorough records of inventory transactions, maintenance schedules, and safety checks. Document expenses accurately for budget tracking and purchasing purposes. Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. Other duties as assigned. Hours/Schedule :

Schedule varies based on department needs, with a flexible mix of weekday and occasional weekend hours. Employment terms are aligned with college enrollment and course schedules.

Work Environment:

Moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds. Regular movement required for inventory management and equipment handling. Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or GED. At least three (3) years of experience in inventory management or a related field. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Proficiency with basic computer functions, especially inventory management software. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in Transportation technologies.
