PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled
Hardware Production Quality Engineer
to support the
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) business unit
in
Oldsmar, FL . This
1-year contract-to-hire
role will focus on ensuring compliance with contractual quality requirements, supporting root cause investigations, and driving continuous improvement across diverse product lines in aerospace and defense.
The ideal candidate will have experience in
AS9100 quality systems, production hardware assurance, defect data analysis, and government contract quality compliance .
Key Responsibilities:
Support
Product Quality Assurance (PQA)
activities in collaboration with Program Managers and the Quality COE Perform
root cause analysis and corrective actions
to resolve production nonconformances Evaluate and disposition
nonconforming hardware , analyzing defect data to identify trends and systemic issues Participate in
hardware change control boards
and configuration reviews Drive
lessons learned
and utilize advanced technologies to improve quality operations Support and provide inputs for
proposal labor estimates and ECPs Verify
compliance to requirements
and present systems to customers for acceptance Participate in initiatives related to
advanced manufacturing
(additive manufacturing, lean manufacturing, rapid prototyping, etc.) Apply
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
methods in a production environment Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship (required due to special access program requirements) Excellent
written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of
AS9100 quality standards Proven
audit experience Proficiency with
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Familiarity with
hardware engineering requirements development, design, system integration, and test Understanding of
manufacturing and hardware engineering processes Experience applying
SPC tools in production environments Ability to work comfortably on the
production floor Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with
2+ years of relevant quality engineering experience Experience supporting
DoD contracts Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
certification Familiarity with
IPC 610/620 and J-STD-001 standards Experience working with
government customer representatives Background implementing
advanced manufacturing techniques
(additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, CAI, data analytics) Experience implementing
predictive quality tools Knowledge of
Surface-Mount Technology (SMT)
manufacturing
