Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time, entry level manufacturing production assistant to support day to day operations on the production floor. This role requires a detail oriented individual with strong manual dexterity and the ability to work with small components in a fast paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, focused, and capable of using basic measuring instruments such as calipers and height gauges. Experience or comfort with operating light machinery, including drill presses and manual mills is preferred with opportunity to be trained and advance to 3 axis CNC machining. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. Responsibilities:

  • Using a variety of tools - files, calipers, sander
  • Drilling, tapping, filing, lapping, light machining, honing (sandblasting)
  • Assist with chemical cleaning and rinsing of parts ensuring proper treatment and debris removal
  • Ability to read dimensions on blueprints or schematics
  • Basic math skills - adding and subtracting dimensions (understanding of angles and geometry is a plus)
  • Verification of sub-assembly inventory quantities
  • Quality inspection of completed assembled parts
  • Job also includes tracking of sub-component inventory and basic reporting to management
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining high level quality parts
  • Use calipers and gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
  • Able to select, set up and use tooling (drills, reamers, etc.) specific to machining needs.
  • Troubleshoot and report problems, discrepancies, anomalies in a timely manner
  • Brazing and/or soldering experience a plus but not required

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • A keen eye for detail
  • Must be able to use necessary measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Gages, etc.) as required – training provided
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English

Qualifications and Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
