Surgical Services – RN Circulator/Ambulatory/PACU

Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a full-time employee in the Surgical Services Department. This Surgical Services RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in Surgical Services Ambulatory area and Operating Room as assigned for all patient populations.
The responsibilities of the Surgical Services RN include yet not limited to:
- Rotating through all specialties of Surgical Services (Ambulatory, Recovery Room & OR) as assigned.
- Preparing patients for surgery.
- Circulating surgical procedures as assigned.
- Collaboration and caring for the patient during their Operative episode.
- Verification of Universal Protocol
- Giving SBARQ report
- Ensuring all specimens are managed correctly.
- Documentation on electronic record
- Restocking supplies and care of equipment
- Functioning as a team player
- Recovering patients from surgery.
- Discharging patients from Ambulatory Surgery
Requirements:
- The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Possess a current RN license from the Michigan State board of Nursing.
- One year of perioperative nurse experience – willing to train the right candidate.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year of hire date if not already achieved.
