Registered Nurse – ICU Travel Position

Location: Rapid City, SD
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x12s Nights
Pay: $3,097/week

 

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Rapid City, SD on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, requiring continuous monitoring, clinical expertise, and rapid response to changing conditions. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, adaptable, and experienced in high-acuity ICU settings.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and continuous nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex IV therapies.
  • Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and infusion pumps.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and recovery expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ICU best practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license in South Dakota (or compact eligibility).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
