Optum is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support their internal medicine/family practice clinic in Redlands, CA. This role will work closely with an Internal Medicine/Family Practice physician, who sees roughly 18 patients daily, with occasional pediatric cases. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for: Rooming patients, taking vitals, and triaging ,Managing in-basket tasks, including message review and routing, handling prescription refills and responding to referral inquiries, delivering high-quality patient care via in-person, phone, and electronic communication for exams, monitoring and diagnostic preparation, collecting and accurately documenting patient information, assisting injections and EKGs, coordinating patient care per physician direction and company protocols, managing phone calls and messages with thorough documentation, preparing and sanitizing exam rooms, setting up instruments and equipment per infection control standards.
***Time and attendance will be crucial for this role - need someone that can fully commit to consistently working full 40 hour work weeks and no planned time off!

Required Skills & Experience - Medical Assistant Diploma or certification - BLS Certificate from American Heart Association (Or willing to obtain by date of hire) - High School diploma or GED - 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant within family practice/internal medicine - Reliable, hardworking, brings a positive attitude to work every day
Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience with Epic EMR system - Bilingual English and Spanish
