Professional Summary:
We are seeking a Customer Issue Resolution & Warranty Specialist with deep expertise in transmission systems, diagnostics, and customer support. This role is pivotal in managing customer issues, warranty tracking, parts investigation, and coordinating with technical sales and product build/test teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with transmission repair and diagnostics and will serve as the conduit between existing customers and internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of product issues.
Key Responsibilities: Resolve customer issues related to transmission systems and components. Investigate warranty claims and parts issues, including root cause analysis. Coordinate with technical sales, product build, and test teams to address and resolve customer concerns. Track and analyze recurring issues to identify potential systemic problems that may lead to warranty claims. Serve as the primary contact for existing customers regarding reworked products and issue tracking. Document findings, provide guidance, and communicate technical issues to non-technical staff or customers. Utilize diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve complex transmission problems. Requirements
Sample Skills & Attributes:
Hands-on transmission repair/overhaul experience: Disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly, road testing. Familiarity with failures, wear patterns, hydraulic issues, and electronic controls. 5+ years of experience working with automatic transmissions, including rebuilds. Experience with a variety of transmission systems: 2500 & 3500 Diesel Pickup Trucks, Performance Powerglide, TH400, and 4L80E. Diagnostic experience using scan tools, wiring diagrams, hydraulic pressure tests, and control module communications. Industry-specific certifications such as ATRA Certified Rebuilder program. Manufacturer/OEM training in transmission types such as 68rfe, 48re, 6r140, 5r110W, Allison, 10L1000. Understanding of hydraulic control systems, torque converters, clutches, planetary sets, shift solenoids, sensors, valve bodies, and module communication. Proficiency with pressure testing tools, scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, technical manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams. Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing elusive problems. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical issues and documenting findings clearly. Education & Certifications:
Associate's degree in automotive technology or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years in technical support or customer issue resolution within automotive aftermarket, preferably in automatic transmissions. ASE Certified is a plus but not required. What You Can Expect:
