JobSummary:

TheDirector of the Durant Children's Center -Third Judicial Circuit is responsiblefor overseeing and managing all services provided to children and theirfamilies in Sumter County.

Leadership •

Provide visionary leadership

forthe Durant Children's Center (DCC) by directing the development, coordination,and continuous enhancement of all services in alignment with NationalChildren's Alliance (NCA) accreditation standards. •

Foster strategic partnerships

bybuilding and sustaining strong, collaborative relationships with externalagencies, multidisciplinary teams, and community stakeholders to improve thecollective response to child abuse and ensure the safety and well-being ofchildren. •

Promote a culture of innovationand excellence

by cultivating an organizationalenvironment rooted in trauma-informed care, continuous quality improvement, andbest practices that meet the evolving needs of children and families served byDCC Sumter.

ProgramAdministration : • Maintain and coordinate allservices provided within the DCC and ensure services meet at least the minimumstandards put forth by the National Children's Alliance. • Revise and implement policies andprocedures within the Center in efforts to maintain the quality of services. • Maintain up to date knowledge ofrelated community resources and ensure staff are knowledgeable of and utilizethis information in making referrals for families. • Work with the Center's FamilyAdvocates to ensure child(ren) and/or non-offending family members relate toappropriate referrals. • Disseminate unique child focusedexpertise throughout community, state, and national organizations. Facilitatethe system's change to meet the needs of abused children. • Participate in the improvement ofthe community child serving agencies capacities to protect children. Improvecollaboration between relevant community agencies. • Provide leadership to the staffof the Durant Children's Center. • Maintain knowledge and awarenessof the physical needs of each DCC location and report problems to supervisor orarrange for service.

ProfessionalDevelopment: • Maintain expert status and attendto professional growth and self-care. • Attending conferences, asassigned by Executive Director. • Stay current on professionalliterature.

Training • Lead the development andimplementation of high-quality, comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)training initiatives that promote professional growth and team collaboration. • Coordinate all logistical aspectsof training events, including securing qualified facilitators, appropriatevenues, necessary resources, and scheduling to maximize participation andimpact. • Collaborate with supervisors andteam members to identify subject matter experts and relevant topics alignedwith evolving best practices and agency needs. • Manage presenter communications,including the collection of training materials, confirmation of technology andequipment needs, and preparation of handouts and resources. • Ensure smooth execution oftraining events by setting up meeting spaces, distributing materials, andtroubleshooting on-site needs as necessary.

PhysicalLocation: • Regularly assess and monitor thephysical condition and operational functionality of DCC Sumter to ensure asafe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment for children, families, andstaff. • Serve as a liaison with on-sitepersonnel and external vendors to address and resolve maintenance and repairissues promptly. • Support resource development effortsby identifying and securing donated or in-kind goods, such as furnishings andequipment, to enhance the center's physical space and operational capacity.

CommunityEducation: • Participate in the communityeducation component of the program and provide presentations to faith-based,social, civic and government organizations. • Distribute posters, brochures andcrisis cards throughout the region.

OtherResponsibilities: • Adhere to PDC's vision, missionand philosophy • Attend appropriate trainingworkshops and conferences • Attend the Friends Board. • Attend organizational staffmeetings and other meetings upon request • Abide by and meet all grantrequirements and objectives • Maintain confidentiality of andprivacy of children and families, volunteers, and staff always • Meet any other needs asidentified by Supervisor • Ensure Supervisor isknowledgeable about any issues that affect volunteers and interns • Always conduct oneselfprofessionally and ethically

Qualifications: • Master'sdegree in human services related field • CertifiedForensic Interviewer (preferred) • Experienceworking within a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) (preferred) • Experiencein non-profit or governmental accounting, budgeting, and grants management. • Provenleadership in managing staff, fostering collaboration, and guidinghigh-performing teams. • Excellentcommunication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. • Demonstratedability to think strategically and act decisively in complex, high-states situations. • Proficiencyin MS Office applications including (Word, Outlook, Excel) • Knowledgeof child abuse in general and specifically in MDT and CAC model.

Requirements • Excellentorganizational skills; ability to multi-task • SCSLED Criminal Record, Sex Offender Registry and DSS Central Registryclearance • ValidSC Driver's license
