Job Description Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year
License: Must hold an active license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice. Certifications: Continuing Education courses preferred. Must-Have: Must hold an active license or plan to test in the near future to obtain a license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
Description: Great opportunity for a Physical Therapist. The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary. Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files. Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up. Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care. Communicate with physicians and other persons to ensure quality patient care. Correspond with co-workers and other offices via phone, fax, and email. Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc. Ensure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary. Work closely with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up. Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements, including typing, word processing, internet navigation, and EMR. Make independent decisions regarding patient care. Be involved in the business marketing and referral process when necessary. Follow HIPAA policy and procedure. Be familiar with PT billing policy and procedure regarding Medicare, work-comp, private, auto, liens, and cash pay. Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing of services. Be physically mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour workdays. Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist in moving patients with mobility restraints. Assist patients with transferring and provide standby assistance for walking safety. This position supervises PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care. This position works in a patient physical therapy clinic in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with privacy policies, procedures, and practices. May access protected health information and other patient information only as necessary to complete job duties. May only share patient information with those who have a need to know for treatment, payment, or other operations. Reported concerns regarding privacy violations are encouraged and expected without threat of retaliation. Expected to actively participate in privacy training. Required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and others in accordance with policy. Must comply with OSHA and federal and state regulations. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to perform essential functions of this job. The position requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving continually during working hours. The employee must be constantly alert for patient safety. No travel is expected for this position.
