Summary
We are currently seeking an Electrical Testing Engineer in Simpsonville, SC. This position works with an experienced, small team of engineers and technicians to build original equipment designs and troubleshoot existing equipment as needed. The role focuses on participation on-site in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians in the KEMET Ceramics Equipment Engineering group designing, building, and deploying equipment necessary for the manufacture and testing of ceramic capacitors (MLCCs).
Key Responsibilities Develop test plans and procedures for equipment to be used in various manufacturing and lab areas within the Ceramics Business Unit. Create complex electrical schematics for measuring Cap, Df, IR, and other electrical characteristics of ceramic capacitors Collaborate with other engineers to develop custom and/or modify equipment to meet new manufacturing goals. Plan timelines and objective with project managers and customers targets in focus. Work with suppliers and outside experts to continue to improve KEMET equipment and processes. Interface with various groups such as production and R&D Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related STEM degree. Must have high proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Must be a team player, a self-starter, have a good work ethic, effective time management skills, creativity, analytical skills, and strong communication skills AutoCAD experience or other electrical focused design tool. Strong knowledge of DC, AC, Resistance, Amperage, and Frequencies related to electronic components Experience developing circuits, diagrams and schematics for various test applications in a production environment. Experience with circuit board design and assembly. Experience working with industrial meters and PSUs (Agilent/Keysight, Keithley, KEPCO, Chroma, etc.) Hands on experience with wiring and soldering to assist with the equipment assembly and debug Some familiarity with safety standards and codes (e.g., NEC, OSHA) Focus on organization when managing drawing series and BOM's Ability to remain in a stationary position (seated/standing) for extended periods Location and Work Type
