Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This position will be a part of Eaton's Aerospace group, specifically supporting the Irvine California facility. The Irvine facility has approximately 150 employees and is the Headquarters for Eaton Aerospace. This site makes the parts that bring jet fuel to and through thousands of aircraft every day.
This is an onsite role, Monday through Friday, aligned to a 1st shift schedule.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $95737.5 - $140415.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do: The Senior Quality Engineer designs, coordinates, and implements highly complex process sampling systems, procedures, statistical techniques, and quality systems. Develops process improvement and cost control programs throughout the plant. Performs review of customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure processes meet/exceed requirements. Provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed.
In this function you will:
• Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.
• Executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and various customer requirements.
• Function as Lead Auditor to perform quality system audits at suppliers and internally to assess compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
• Hosts and supports Internal, Customer, Supplier, and 3rd Party Audits as required.
• Works collaboratively with applicable internal functional teams to improve key metrics. Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction and improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives.
• Analyzes organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommends action plans to Quality Manager to close gaps at an operational level.
• Contributes in using problem solving techniques and determining containment and Corrective Action solutions with applicable verification methods.
• Contributes in the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conducts training in quality-related topics.
• May participate in product development gate review meetings with launch activities including identification of customer expectations ensuring that Quality requirements and flow downs are understood and to help drive compliance.
• Apply engineering and manufacturing technical knowledge to help improve supplier activities that can help Eaton's quality, delivery and cost performance objectives
• Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
• Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing and inspection processes.
• Ensure that product shipped meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Host Source inspectors and/or Customer Auditors as needed.
• Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field Minimum two (2) years of work experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment and within a Quality function Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Irvine, CA to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of quality experience in Aerospace industry ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) Customer-specific quality registration, certification processes experience (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100) Previous work experience in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, PPAPs, and Process Variation Reduction concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination Familiar with and experience in product conformity requirements. Position Criteria: • Working knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements. • Ability to learn product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements. • Knowledge of product manufacturing, assembly, test and inspection processes. • Willingness to 'think outside the box' and can work well individually or in a Team environment. • Previous work experience of problem-solving methods such as: 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and requirements.
