About the Role
We are seeking a skilled
DevOps Engineer
to support modernization efforts within the
Department of State . This role is AWS-centric, with some Azure involvement, and focuses on infrastructure automation, continuous integration, and deployment. You'll work closely with development and infrastructure teams to streamline delivery pipelines, enforce security and compliance, and maintain resilient cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain
CI/CD pipelines
for application and infrastructure deployment Manage cloud environments using
Terraform
for infrastructure as code Support cloud services primarily in
AWS , with some
Azure
environments Implement DevOps best practices to improve delivery speed, quality, and system reliability Troubleshoot infrastructure and pipeline issues and automate repeatable tasks Ensure compliance with
DoS security requirements
and federal standards Deploy and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance
(Department of State preferred) 3+ years of experience in a
DevOps
or related engineering role Proficiency with
AWS services
(EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, etc.) Working knowledge of
Azure
environments Strong experience with
Terraform
and infrastructure-as-code practices Familiarity with
Git
and CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) Scripting experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.) Preferred Skills
Experience supporting the
Department of State
or other federal agencies Knowledge of
FedRAMP , NIST, or FISMA compliance frameworks Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, AKS) AWS or Azure certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional) Familiarity with monitoring tools such as
CloudWatch ,
ELK , or
Splunk
