The Delivery Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service while safely and efficiently delivering products from our main warehouse to our retail branches and customer locations in and around Columbus. The Delivery Driver would also fulfill various warehouse functions at the beginning or end of their shift when deliveries are complete as needed, including moving material, cleaning warehouse dock, unloading and loading trucks while maintaining a safe warehouse environment.

Responsibilities:

Fully understands how to operate and safely drive assigned delivery vehicle. Accesses branch stores after hours using security access codes to deliver material. Delivers material to branch locations and unloads material in designated area. Prepares, stages and delivers pipe yard material as needed. Assists with picking orders, auditing material and loading trucks as needed when branch transfers are complete. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers. Loads and unloads delivery trucks with materials to be delivered to customers including general electrical material, as well as copper and aluminum wire, and steel and PVC pipe. Unloads material from the truck at delivery sites and provides correct paperwork with the delivery. Lifts skids of material from the truck to the branches without assistance. Verifies correct material is loaded on truck before making deliveries by checking to ensure the quantity and description of materials matches the packing list. Confirms contents of each load matches the manifest document. Ensures materials are properly secured on truck to prevent breakage or damage. Obtains signatures and takes pictures of material to confirm and complete deliveries with customers. Follows predetermined routes and ensures timely deliveries. Communicates with Transportation Supervisor and/or Manager as needed. Inspects vehicle prior to and following each trip. Maintains and services vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) Notifies managers of any major vehicle maintenance or delivery issues encountered. Adheres to company safety policies and procedures and prioritizes safety at all times. Obeys all applicable traffic laws and drives according to the weather/road conditions. Safely operates all necessary warehouse equipment in work area. Performs general warehouse work, including cleaning delivery dock, loading, unloading, and auditing material as needed. Works outside and stands for prolonged periods of time doing activities such as loading and unloading pipe and other bulk materials as required. Other duties as assigned. Experience :

Must be able to drive a 26-foot box truck and flatbed truck. 2-5 years driving and delivery experience. Warehouse and distribution experience preferred. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Core Competencies :

High School Diploma or GED Essential Job Functions:

Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull packages, products, and materials weighing up to

50 pounds

independently and up to

with assistance or material handling equipment. Standing/Walking:

Frequent walking, standing, and climbing in and out of vehicles throughout the shift. Sitting/Driving:

Prolonged periods of sitting while operating a delivery vehicle. Climbing/Balance:

Regular climbing into/out of trucks or vans; ability to maintain balance while handling loads of varying sizes. Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching:

Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to load/unload deliveries and secure cargo. Reaching/Handling:

Regular reaching, grasping, and handling of products, packages, tools, and vehicle equipment. Vision:

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to safely operate vehicles and read delivery documents. Hearing/Speaking:

Ability to hear traffic sounds, safety signals, and verbal instructions; must be able to communicate clearly with customers, dispatch, and coworkers in person and by phone/radio. Environmental Conditions:

Work performed both inside vehicles and outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), traffic, dust, and noise. PPE Use:

Must be able to wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, high-visibility vest, hard hats, etc.) as directed by company policy and/or customer site requirements.
