Maintenance Engineer

Summary/Objective

To assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and hotel property. Position is responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner. Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC and electrical). Must provide immediate follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and General Manager with findings. Performs routinely scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities throughout property, including guest rooms, grounds, public areas, and meeting rooms. Includes minor repairs and painting. Respond to guest's maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient, prompt, and courteous service to hotels standards. Performs preventive maintenance on tools and maintains all tools and equipment used in performance of the job. Keeps tools orderly and in good working order. Take responsibilities for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all mechanical equipment and storage rooms. Ensure that proper records are kept relating to all equipment for the hotel including repair and service records. Oversees compliance with OSHA standards regarding proper usage, dilution of products, equipment safety and usage as well as blood-borne pathogen precautions and procedures. Ensure wearing proper uniform with name tag and uphold hotel grooming and hygiene standards.

Competencies

Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Ability to accept criticism and opportunities gracefully and humbly for growth. Highly responsible and reliable. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team. Proper use and knowledge of various types of tools and equipment used in hotel maintenance and repairs. Work environment

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, and working in small spaces at times. Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards. Required education and experience

Two years' experience in a hotel or related field preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Licensed in a trade preferred (Plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry, etc.). Knowledge of hotel operation, including security and safety programs. Other duties
